UL AND GREENVIET MUTUALLY COLLABORATE TO ENHANCE THE OVERALL BUILDING SAFETY IN VIETNAM

On January 25, 2018 at Sheraton Saigon Hotel Tower Ho Chi Minh city. The signing ceremony between representative of UL Southeast Asia and GreenViet Consultancy Company Limited (GreenViet), the event marks collaboration between the two parties in the effort to improve the construction safety standards in Vietnam by expanding UL’s Building Inspection Program with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Through the signing, UL and GreenViet will jointly promote public safety in building inspections.

The Building Inspection Program offers comprehensive assessment and gap analysis of fire prevention, fire protection and life safety and security systems in commercial, institutional and industrial buildings. Mr. Anthony Tan, vice president and managing director for UL ASEAN region, said: “The partnership with GreenViet demonstrates our continued commitment to promoting safe living and working environments globally and in Vietnam. As part of this collaboration, we will train and qualify GreenViet’s inspectors to conduct inspections using UL’s Building Inspection Program in Vietnam.”

In the context Vietnam is constantly developing and improving national infrastructure by boosting safety standards, the collaboration between GreenViet and UL is a positive action ensuring the security in the construction industry in particular and public safety in general.

Based on more than a century experience in testing, certifying, and inspecting fire and life safety security products of UL, through this MOU, GreenViet inspectors will be trained and audited by UL to produce comprehensive reviews based on UL’s Building Program. Since then GreenViet has enhanced its ability to objectively report potential compliance gaps on improving building safety to support investors with their decisions.

GreenViet is currently working on three projects (one school in Hanoi and a high-end apartment and a commercial office in Ho Chi Minh City) and it will probably be the first projects applied the new inspection standard.
